The short answer: you can create an electronic signature three ways in OpenSign™ — draw it with your mouse or finger, type your name in a signature font, or upload an image of your handwritten signature. Save it once and reuse it on any document. It's free and takes under a minute.
Method 1 — Draw your signature
- Open OpenSign and start a document.
- Add a signature field and choose Draw.
- Sign with your mouse, trackpad or finger (touchscreen).
- Save it — OpenSign remembers it for next time.
Method 2 — Type your signature
- Add a signature field and choose Type.
- Enter your name and pick a signature-style font.
- Save and place it on the document.
Method 3 — Upload a signature image
- Sign on paper and take a clear photo, or scan it.
- Add a signature field and choose Upload.
- Select your signature image (PNG or JPG) and place it.
Tips for a great electronic signature
- Use a transparent PNG for uploaded signatures so there's no white box.
- Keep a consistent signature across documents.
- Save your signature to sign future documents in one click.
- Add your initials as a separate saved field for multi-page documents.
